Best crystals?

Post by canadianmind on November 1st 2009, 7:34 pm

What are the best crystals to use during meditation, or any other spiritual venture of the sort?? I have amythist, quartz, a large geode, jade, slate, I also have a few random rocks from the bow river up in the rockies....

The ones that speak to you, intuitively, are the ones you should buy.

:O thats deep man lol jk. It does make sence. I want to make an alter, but i just dont want to bring any negative energies. So i guess what I should have asked was, are there any crystals to avoid?

I try to smudge anything I bring to my altar as well as myself occassionly.
This ritual is full of intention and works to rid of any unwanted energies associated objects you may want to add.
Specific to altars, I usually, however, only bring special objects to my altar.
For example a crystal that my daugther bought me for my birthday or one that i "felt" I should buy as I saw it at a store.
This, IMO, is what make an altar special and unique to you. This is what gives it its power!
Peace

Congratz on your new altar!!

Smudging is a perfect way to cleanse & consecrate new items for the altar. Some people use salt-water (holy water).. Some people use rituals to do this..

Everything on my altar is cleansed, including the altar, the space around the altar, and like WhiteShaman mentioned - I cleanse myself as well..

Ya ive been reading up on it alot, it makes sence casue excess energy can linger, and casue some problems, as far as ive been reading most arent too bad, but like everything there is some BAD to it. Alot of what im -reading aid to wash tit in clean water, and say an affirmation " i cleanse this_______ ..." or what have you... I also know that quartz is very good at holding old energies in...... sometimes it can even attribute to hauntings ( a scene will play over and over again, becasue of an abumdance of quartz hold the energies. But this takes a lot of it). They say you should always cleanse before you do anything with your alter, or even meditation, becasue bad energies can linger, and block your flow, or even make bad magic happen...

Ive always collected rocks and such, i just dont know what most of it is, unless i cought it at a yardsale lol. The cool thing is, years and years ago i bought a cube of jade about 4 or 5 inches.

Cool!!

I don't have a whole lot of crystals, just a few that I use often. But I'd like to collect more, because some of them are soo beautiful..

Good luck with the Altar...
I know you'll love having one..

salt does help
recently I was getting negative vibes
from a glass photo frame my daughter
bought...
after telling her about it
I took some salt on a damp paper towel
and wiped the frame without damaging it
..... I felt better and it hasn't bothered me since
I put it away safely until it will be ready to use....
the edges are sharp and it doesn't need to be out...LOL

my daughther said "there's one just like it on my desk
are you getting negative vibes from that too....?" I told her
I wasn't but I sure got some from the frame I cleansed...

Sunshine is a cleanser too....
but I found the salt and water was better
or just salt depending on what it is...like
property you just have to sprinkle salt and let nature water it....LOl Fishing

yes, you say what you will though on the positive note .....like "evil be gone" ....LOL
and "goodness stay with me everyday".

If you put Carnelian crystals in the wealth corner of your house, it is said to bring wealth and abundance.

I've got a Selenite tea light holder as well and when a lighted tea light is place in the holder the Selenite catches the light beautifully. I got quite a lot of crystals and I love all of them. Selenite has to be one of my favourite Crystals.

The Chinese use Jade for attracting wealth. I've seen Jade crystal dragons in Chinese takeaways, they look really smart.

I love stones that you just love to hold
for example, the jade I have is a tiny 1/4 in cube
and the same for the depth of my rectangle jade.
They are just fun to hold in my fingers...LOL
My tiger eye is shaped like a wild heart.

My collection seems to have to feel right or have a shape
I can live with.
