Post by d-knots on January 11th 2009, 9:17 pm

This is one of my favorite constellations
next to cassiopea and the big and little dippers
Did you know the north star is not the brightest in the sky?

but this is about Orion this time.....

3-1/2 minutes duration

Right,
I look for Orion
like counting the days
and out here on the East coast
he is off to the side someplace
during summer
but if you look everytime all year
and know his position in respect to the others like
Casseopia (spell?) and the Dippers...(LOL)
you can see some of him
in the summer
because of the suns extended stay
buy the time it gets dark
- you know those summer eves -
he's over off someplace past or near the horizon line....
yet he wandered over the sky, nonetheless.
I have to look up some of the other
astronomy sites with maps of the sky...
some are just lovely and awesome.

Post what you will about Orion this is his Space...LOL
I know.... Rolling Eyes

My 12 year old and I were just watching Jeopardy, and there was a question about Beteljuse (spelling oh man)
anyways she answered correctly, so i quizzed her on what constellation it was in. oh course miss smarty pants knew the answer Razz even supplying that it was his right elbow.

off topic: everytime I TRY to post in this thread, I get error msg. about the title length-dang glitches!

This video was great i actually got excited and am thinking about studying the stars and their positions. Now orion's belt to me looks like the little dipper, im sure it's not or there would be 2 little dippers and that's just one too many lol

Many Blessings

LOL..... 2 many dippers....LOL

I get the error, too
not sure if I can fix it....
if you send from preview
it jams
but if you go back the the
original reply box and
send from there without preview
it's easy.... Rolling Eyes

this stuff is fun but it keeps me up nights... :rendeer:
it'll all make sense soon...

PSI I can't fix it from my end
can you guys revise the title
maybe a space between each quote mark..?
